Ben Affleck discusses being roasted by his children
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, actor Ben Affleck shared humorous anecdotes about his experiences parenting teenagers. The 54-year-old revealed that his children—Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14—frequently tease him about his romantic history and often dismiss his attempts to offer relationship advice.
Affleck recounted a specific instance during a family dinner where, upon attempting to provide insight into a relationship, his 17-year-old responded, “Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?” He also noted a moment in a bookstore where his child joked that a book titled “I’m Sorry for Everything” was his autobiography. Affleck admitted that he has transitioned from being the “cool dad” to feeling like a “caricature” in his own family stories.
In a separate discussion regarding his upcoming thriller, Animals, Affleck mentioned that he had originally considered casting his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, in a role. However, the decision was ultimately made to avoid drawing excessive attention to their shared past and to prevent unwanted comparisons to other upcoming projects.
