Ben Affleck thriller Sobrevivência set for Netflix release

Netflix has released the first teaser and poster for the upcoming thriller “Sobrevivência” (Survival), scheduled to premiere on October 9, 2026. Directed by Ben Affleck, the film features a cast including Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, and Ray Fisher.

The plot follows a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife after their son is kidnapped. As they navigate a web of lies to secure ransom money, the couple must decide how far they are willing to go to save their child, potentially risking everything they have built.

While Matt Damon was initially considered for a lead role, he has transitioned to a producer role due to scheduling conflicts with other projects. The production, which began filming in March 2025 following a one-year delay, also features co-production by Affleck and Damon.
