Ben Affleck’s unproduced Batman film featured Deathstroke targeting Gordon

Details have emerged regarding Ben Affleck’s unproduced Batman film, specifically concerning the role of the antagonist Deathstroke. According to Joe Manganiello’s memoir, ‘Bloodlines’, the plot was designed as a psychological revenge story rather than a standard physical confrontation.

The narrative would have seen Deathstroke, played by Manganiello, systematically target Bruce Wayne’s support system. Key plot points included an attack on the Batcave, taking Alfred hostage, and the death of Commissioner Gordon. This loss was intended to drive a substantial role for Batgirl, who would hunt the killer.

Affleck reportedly envisioned the project with a tone similar to David Fincher’s ‘The Game’. One major action sequence described involves Batman and Batgirl narrowly escaping death on an elevated train before the story moves into the streets of Gotham.
