Blushi contrasted modern films with those produced by Kinostudio during the communist era. While acknowledging that past films were limited by ideological constraints and lacked diverse character types, he argued that modern directors rely too heavily on a specific aesthetic of rural poverty. He described current cinematic depictions of village life as a collection of unappealing tropes, including dilapidated roads, broken vehicles, and coarse language, which he suggests fails to offer a meaningful or varied cinematic experience.
