Ben Cain and Tina Gverović to present three art books in Dubrovnik

Three artist books by Ben Cain and Tina Gverović will be presented at the Art radionica Lazareti on Wednesday, August 19, at 20:30. The books explore themes of labor, the working and non-working body, collectivity, and various forms of community.

Ben Cain’s ‘Surplus’ is a pocket-sized book printed on thin, newspaper-like paper that archives a selection of temporary public inscriptions he has created over the last five years. His second book, ‘Notes on Workwear’, focuses on contemporary labor, specifically examining clothing and objects related to the body, work, and leisure time.

The third book, ‘Between the Pages / Između stranica’, is a collaborative project between Gverović and Cain. It utilizes collage, layered composition, and juxtaposition to combine new works, previous artistic projects, and AI models. The project focuses on the body, group activities, and landscapes. The presentation is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Dubrovnik.
