Ben Cramer recovers from third heart surgery

Dutch singer Ben Cramer is recovering following his third heart surgery, which took place on Tuesday, October 20, at UMC Utrecht. Although the procedure was successful and the surgeon reported that his heart is functioning as it should, the 79-year-old artist expressed that the recovery process has been extremely taxing.

Cramer noted that the surgery felt more difficult than his previous two procedures. He described feeling exhausted and emotionally drained, stating that even sending text messages to his wife, Carla, and his children is currently too much effort. He has requested that his family not visit him in the hospital while he is in this state, opting to communicate via telephone instead.

Prior to the operation, Cramer had reported significant declines in his physical condition, including shortness of breath and fatigue during basic daily activities. While he is relieved to feel he has "been given a future" again, he emphasized that he will require significant time to fully recover.
