Ben Folds announces orchestral performances in Australia

American singer-songwriter and composer Ben Folds is scheduled to perform with major Australian orchestras for upcoming concert series.

In January, Folds will reunite with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) for two shows at Hamer Hall. Led by Principal Guest Conductor Benjamin Northey, the performances will feature reworked versions of Folds’ catalogue, spanning his solo career and his time with Ben Folds Five.

Looking further ahead, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) has announced that Folds will perform two nights at Her Majesty’s Theatre on February 18 and 19, 2027. Conducted by Carlo Antonioli, these shows serve as the first reveal of the ASO’s 2027 season, aiming to attract new audiences to classical music through unexpected partnerships.
