Ben Frow to step down as content chief at Channel 5

Ben Frow, the long-serving Chief Content Officer for the UK broadcaster Channel 5, has announced he will step down from his role. Frow, who has led commissioning at the network for 14 years, plans to remain with the company through a transition period, with a complete departure expected by the end of 2027.

Frow stated in a memo that he believes it is the right time to hand over the role after achieving his objectives at the network. During his tenure, he oversaw various programs including ‘The Yorkshire Vet’, ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, and ‘Cruising With Jane McDonald’.

Channel 5 is currently owned by Skydance, following the absorption of Paramount. Channel 5 President Reemah Sakaan praised Frow’s creative skills and audience focus, noting that the network intends to appoint a new creative leader. Frow expressed confidence in the future of the channel under Skydance leadership, noting that investment has been secured for the next three years to support programming and evolution.
