Ben Hodges warns NATO lacks readiness for intense aerial attacks
Retired U.S. Lieutenant General Ben Hodges has expressed concerns regarding NATO's ability to withstand the intensity of aerial attacks currently experienced in Ukraine. Speaking on the YouTube channel ‘The Focus with Dr. John Bruni’, the former U.S. Army Europe commander warned that NATO might not be able to endure even a single night of attacks similar to those seen in cities like Kyiv and Odesa.
Hodges noted that while Ukraine faces nightly missile and drone strikes from Russia, European nations are not accustomed to such constant pressure. He emphasized a lack of large-scale, multi-national air and missile defense exercises that fully integrate air, naval, and land forces across the continent. He stated that such comprehensive training has not occurred in Europe for over a decade, leaving the alliance potentially unprepared for a large-scale scenario involving hundreds of drones and missiles.
