Ben Keating to step back from full-time endurance racing
Ben Keating, the 55-year-old Texan driver, has announced he will step back from full-time competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year. A highly successful FIA Bronze-rated driver with four class titles across the LMP2 and GTE divisions, Keating intends to transition to a schedule of one-off appearances.
Keating expressed interest in participating in prestigious standalone events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, provided seats are available. He also plans to focus on historic racing with his 1970 Ford Mustang and 1996 Acura Integra, as well as potentially participating in off-road racing with his daughter.
For the remainder of the current season, Keating remains committed to supporting his TF Sport Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R co-driver, Jonny Edgar, in the pursuit of the WEC LMGT3 title.
