Ben Kohles nears PGA Tour card after competing in Japan

Golfer Ben Kohles is closing in on a PGA Tour card for 2027 after a strategic decision to compete in Japan. Despite being ranked 19th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list heading into the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, Kohles opted to travel to Japan to compete in the Baycurrent Classic.

Following a 3-under 68 and a tied-for-17th finish at the Baycurrent Classic, Kohles earned 48 points, moving him to 80th in the FedEx Cup standings. While not yet a mathematical certainty, Kohles intends to play four of the remaining five events in the FedEx Fall to secure his position in the top 100.
