Ben McKenzie Testifies on Capitol Hill Against Crypto Lobbyists

Actor and director Ben McKenzie appeared before Senate committees on Capitol Hill to warn that the cryptocurrency industry, including ties to the White House, poses fraud risks. He cited the CLARITY Act, which seeks clearer digital‑asset regulation, and accused officials of benefiting from crypto firms such as Tether.

McKenzie, known for his role on "The O.C.", said the industry targets young men and suggested he might consider a political career if crypto lobbying continues unchecked. He has co‑authored the book "Easy Money: Cryptocurrency, Casino Capitalism, and the Golden Age of Fraud" and produced the documentary "Everyone Is Lying to You for Money".
