Ben Rice hits two home runs as Yankees defeat Tampa Bay Rays

Ben Rice hit two home runs during the New York Yankees' 9-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, bringing his season total to 41. With this performance, Rice joined Joe DiMaggio and Aaron Judge as the only Yankees to hit 40 home runs in a season within their first three years in the major leagues.

Rice's two-homer game puts him in a four-way tie for the American League home run lead alongside Pete Alonso, Junior Caminero, and Yordan Alvarez.

In the Yankees' victory, Ryan McMahon contributed a grand slam and five RBIs, while Gerrit Cole earned the win, pitching 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts. The Rays' lone scoring came from a solo home run by Cedric Mullins.
