Ben Roberts-Smith to be interviewed by 2GB ahead of war crimes trial

Radio station 2GB plans to broadcast a recorded interview between host Ben Fordham and Ben Roberts-Smith. The interview comes ahead of a landmark trial in which Roberts-Smith faces five charges of the war crime of murder.

Roberts-Smith is accused of executing Afghan detainees during his military deployment, though he denies all charges. The upcoming broadcast is expected to undergo heavy legal scrutiny to ensure the content does not prejudice the trial proceedings.

While other media figures previously claimed to have secured an interview with Roberts-Smith, 2GB is moving forward with the recorded session. An air date for the interview has not yet been determined.
