Ben Sheppard diagnosed with torn left meniscus

Indiana Pacers shooting guard Ben Sheppard has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee. The injury occurred during a recent game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Head coach Rick Carlisle stated that Sheppard will be sidelined for an unspecified period, though he suggested the player could potentially return in a few weeks. A definitive timeline for his return has not yet been established.

Sheppard, a 25-year-old rotation player, averaged 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game last season. While the term “tear” has caused concern, recovery times for meniscus injuries can vary significantly depending on the grade of the tear.
