Ben Simmons agrees to one-year deal with Sacramento Kings

Ben Simmons has agreed to a one-year contract with the Sacramento Kings, marking his return to the NBA after missing the entire previous season due to injuries. According to reports, the 30-year-old Australian will receive $3.5 million.

Simmons, a former number one overall draft pick and three-time All-Star, has struggled with persistent back and leg injuries in recent seasons. He most recently played for the Los Angeles Clippers before sitting out the 2025-26 campaign.

While Simmons ultimately chose Sacramento, other franchises including the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves had expressed interest. Sacramento reportedly offered more significant playing time as the team looks to rebuild its roster following the departures of DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook.
