Ben Stokes reaches 250 Test wickets as England rally in Trent Bridge decider

England’s captain Ben Stokes marked a historic personal milestone during the second day of the third Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge. By dismissing Mitchell Santner, Stokes became the first England all‑rounder to combine 250 Test wickets with more than 7,000 runs, joining South Africa’s Jacques Kallis as the only player to achieve the feat.

New Zealand posted 438 in their first innings, anchored by a record opening partnership of 317 runs from Tom Latham (151) and Devon Conway (157). Stokes led England’s bowling response, taking four for 70, including an early three‑for‑13 spell that gave England its first breakthrough.
