Ben Thanh - Can Gio metro construction begins in Vietnam

Construction activities have commenced for the Ben Thanh - Can Gio metro line in Vietnam. Specialized machinery, including barges, cranes, and pile drilling equipment, has been deployed along the Rung Sac route, specifically passing through Binh Khanh and Can Gio communes.

At the Dan Xay bridge area, equipment is being prepared for upcoming river-based construction. This section involves the construction of typical viaducts and special bridges from Km 16+976 to the Can Gio station and depot. The contractor joint venture for this segment includes SGC Investment and Construction JSC, CENTRAL Construction JSC, and Infrastructure Development and Investment 620 JSC.

Work is also underway at the Can Gio depot, a critical component of the project. The depot will serve as a hub for train assembly, maintenance, and repair, and will house the Operation Control Center (OCC). The Can Gio station covers approximately 1.2 hectares and features four tracks, while the adjacent depot and OCC cover roughly 25.5 hectares. The total metro line spans approximately 54 km with an estimated investment exceeding 102,000 billion VND.
