Benaguasil Fallas win recycling campaign with tree planting

The Fallas commissions of Benaguasil have won the ‘La Plantà del Vidre’ campaign for the second consecutive year. Organized by Ecovidrio in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana, the initiative encouraged the recycling of glass containers during the 2026 festivities.

As a reward for recycling 16,880 kilograms of glass, the participating Fallas groups were awarded a tree planting in a local green zone. Each participating ‘casal fallero’ sponsored a Ficus nitida tree, which features an identifying plaque to commemorate their commitment to environmental care.

The participating groups include Falla Topairet, Falla Carrer de Llíria, Falla Picaor, Falla Monte Montiel, Falla l’Espardenya, Falla Plaça de Bous, Falla El Penyot, Falla Cervantes, Falla El Pilar, and Falla Altra Que Tal. The campaign aimed to raise awareness regarding waste separation in municipalities celebrating Fallas, involving 13 towns across the provinces of Valencia and Castellón.
