Bence Rétvári, parliamentary group leader for the Christian Democratic People's Party (KDNP), conducted a visit to the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia. Accompanied by Lőrinc Nacsa and Zsuzsa Máthé, Rétvári met with local municipal, cultural, and educational leaders to discuss the challenges facing the region.

Rétvári identified the recently passed Ukrainian education law as a significant step forward, noting that it applies to all minorities speaking EU languages, including Poles, Slovaks, Romanians, and Bulgarians. However, he emphasized that restoring rights lost in recent years will be a long process, involving a months-long administrative period to re-authorize minority schools and verify school directors.

The visit also addressed the demographic shifts caused by the war. Rétvári noted that internal displacement has altered the ethnic proportions of Transcarpathia, as many ethnic Hungarians have fled while many others have arrived from Eastern Ukraine and Kyiv. He highlighted the importance of institutions like the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University and local schools in maintaining cultural identity despite the ongoing conflict.
