Benda and Geely expand European automotive presence

Chinese manufacturers are expanding their presence in the European automotive market through new model launches and competitive pricing.

Benda is set to present the Dark Flag 950 at EICMA 2026 in Milan. This large cruiser features a 948 cc liquid-cooled V4 engine producing approximately 109 hp and 85 Nm of torque. Designed for both performance and touring, the motorcycle includes Brembo brakes, a six-speed gearbox, and belt final drive. It is expected to be available in the European market, with prices in Germany starting around 11,350 Euro.

Simultaneously, Geely is targeting the small electric vehicle segment with the E2. Priced at 19,990 Euro, the E2 aims to compete directly with established models from Volkswagen and Renault. Geely, which holds stakes in Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin, is leveraging its scale to challenge European manufacturers in the B-segment.

In the broader German market, September saw a significant rise in electric vehicle registrations. Battery electric vehicles (BEV) reached a record market share of 34.5 percent, driven largely by increased demand from private customers benefiting from state incentives.
