Bending Spoons acquires Airtable for $1.285 bn in post‑IPO deal
Italian technology group Bending Spoons announced an all‑cash acquisition of no‑code platform Airtable. The transaction values Airtable at an enterprise value of $1.285 billion, which, after accounting for Airtable’s net cash, translates to an equity value of roughly $2.25 billion. The deal was disclosed about a month after Bending Spoons listed on Nasdaq on 1 July 2026 and is expected to close later in 2026, subject to regulatory clearances.
Airtable, founded in 2013 by Howie Liu, provides a spreadsheet‑database hybrid used by more than 500,000 organisations, including 80 % of the Fortune 100, and reported annual recurring revenue of about $480 million. Bending Spoons CEO Luca Ferrari said the purchase is a “long‑term bet” and described Airtable as “a pioneering brand reshaping how teams organize data and manage critical workflows.” Liu called Airtable “the AI‑native platform of the future.”
The acquisition follows Bending Spoons’ recent purchases of AOL, Eventbrite, Evernote and WeTransfer, reflecting its strategy of buying digital businesses, applying deep AI‑driven transformation, and reinvesting the gains.
