Brienza mourns 15-year-old Benedetta Gorga after sudden death in Argentina

The community of Brienza, Italy, is in mourning following the sudden death of 15-year-old Benedetta Gorga. The teenager passed away in Argentina due to a sudden cardiac arrest while on a trip.

Mayor Raffaele Collazzo expressed the profound grief of the town, describing the loss as a deep wound to the community. Local institutions, including the Brienza Calcio sports club and the IIS Cicerone school in Sala Consilina, have also extended their condolences to her family, including her brother Francesco and sister Chiara.

Plans are underway to repatriate her body to Brienza to allow the community and her family to hold a final farewell service. The local administration has indicated that municipal mourning will be proclaimed for the funeral.
