Benedetto XIV Sella Cento launches 2026/27 season with new coach and director

The volleyball club Benedetto XIV Sella Cento presented its 2026/27 programme at the Fava Storni headquarters in Cento, Italy. President Gianni Fava highlighted the club’s aim to remain in Serie A2 and stressed a financially balanced approach, saying, “Il futuro non si improvvisa: si costruisce con programmazione, responsabilità e lavoro quotidiano.”

Technical leadership was confirmed with coach Andrea Bonacina retained, while former Omegna director Filippo Fanchini took over as sport director. Bonacina promised an energetic, fighting team, “Siamo carichi e pronti… solo insieme potremo affrontare ogni sfida.” Fanchini thanked the club for the opportunity and outlined a roster built around young prospects and experienced A2 players. Coordinator Alessandro Livreri introduced the “Benedetto 2030” plan, aimed at strengthening the club through local business, institutional support and youth projects such as the Benedetto Project and collaboration with Happy Basket.

The overarching goal is to secure the team’s place in Serie A2 without relying on playouts, while fostering a strong sense of belonging between the squad, staff, supporters and the city of Cento.
