Beneo Chile announces bonus for farmers affected by heavy rains
Beneo Chile has announced an extraordinary one-time bonus to support farmers in the Maule and La Araucanía regions following exceptionally heavy rainfall. The company will compensate 75% of the estimated yield loss associated with late planting for the 2026-2027 agricultural campaign. This measure aims to protect farmers and ensure the supply of raw materials for industrial demand.
The decision follows intense precipitation linked to the El Niño phenomenon, which has caused widespread soil saturation. In areas such as Los Ángeles, significant rainfall has prevented machinery from entering fields, delaying the planting of chicory, grains, forage, and seeds.
Agricultural authorities in the Ñuble region report that these delays, combined with rising costs for fertilizer, electricity, and diesel, threaten to result in negative financial outcomes and liquidity shortages for producers. The excess moisture also increases risks of soil compaction and sanitary issues for crops.
