Benešov and Boskovice host free summer festivals across Czech Republic

The 11th edition of Benešov City Live runs from 15 July to 30 August on Masaryk Square, offering fifteen concerts, seven open‑air film screenings and the traditional Benešov posvícení on 15 August. All events are free, featuring a mix of Czech and international acts such as Celest & Charles, Raego, and local bands like Procity Rock. The programme also includes a family‑friendly summer cinema and a special “Pěkná hodinka” with a South‑Bohemian brass band.

From 9 to 12 July, the 34th Festival Boskovice attracted about four thousand visitors. The four‑day event combined music, theatre, film, exhibitions and debates, and introduced a new Performance Hub that staged site‑specific works in locations such as the town hall fountain and a park near the Church of All Saints. Highlights included experimental world‑music performances, a documentary discussion with photographer Josef Koudelka, and a range of visual art installations that remain on display through the summer.
