Benevento police arrest 22-year-old for attempted murder

Police in Benevento have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with an attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. The arrest follows an investigation into a shooting that occurred on August 27 at Parco De Mita, near the Wikka Party venue.

Investigators state the suspect fired multiple shots at a 27-year-old man, causing injuries that required hospitalization but were expected to heal within 15 days. The incident caused panic among the youth present at the scene and led to a medical emergency for the local venue manager.

Following the incident, the Questore of Benevento ordered the Wikka Party venue to close for 15 days. The suspect was located and apprehended in the Avellino province after a period of being at large. He has appointed attorney Vittorio Fucci for his defense, and a hearing to validate the arrest is expected shortly.
