Benevento residents demand action over biomethane plant odours

The Comitato Civico Territoriale has reported persistent and intense odours affecting the areas between Benevento Nord and the municipality of Pietrelcina. Residents have noted that these smells are particularly strong during the night and in the early morning hours.

The issue is linked to the removal of organic matter from a local biomethane plant. Although the deadline for completing these cleaning operations has passed, the Committee reports a lack of confirmation regarding whether the work has actually been finished.

In response, the Committee is calling for targeted inspections during critical time slots and has requested that the Prefecture establish a permanent technical committee to monitor the situation and ensure transparency regarding the plant's management.
