Benevento school catering inquiry filed in Italian Parliament
Gianpiero Zinzi, a deputy for the Lega party, has filed a parliamentary inquiry regarding the legality of school meal services in Benevento. The inquiry targets the decision to allow the private company Autenthica, which manages municipal school catering, to use the kitchens of the state music conservatory, “Nicola Sala”.
The use of the conservatory's facilities follows a delay in the start of the catering service due to issues with the contractor's own cooking center. While the municipality presented this as an institutional collaboration, Zinzi has raised questions concerning the legal nature of the agreement, authorization acts, economic conditions, and the responsibilities involved in a private entity using public assets.
Zinzi is calling on the relevant ministries to verify the regularity of the temporary concession and to ensure that all hygienic-sanitary and administrative requirements for preparing student meals are being strictly met.
