Benfica wins national championships in roller hockey and women’s futsal

Benfica secured two Portuguese titles on the same weekend. In the roller‑hockey league final at the Pavilhão da Luz, the club defeated Sporting 3‑1, claiming its 25th national championship and becoming the first unbeaten champion since the play‑off format was introduced. Goals came from João Rodrigues, Viti Jr. and Nolito Romero, while Sporting was reduced to four players after a red card.

In women's futsal, Benfica beat Nun'Álvares 4‑1 in the final, also played in Lisbon’s Pavilhão da Luz, to capture its eighth national crown. Sara Ferreira converted a penalty, and Janice Silva added a hat‑trick‑like performance. The match also marked the retirement of veteran Inês Fernandes, who was honoured by teammates.

Both victories were celebrated by large home crowds, underscoring Benfica’s dominance across multiple sports this season.
