Benfica completes squad with Norwegian internationals ahead of Europa League tie

Portuguese club Benfica confirmed that Norwegian internationals Andreas Schjelderup and a second Norwegian player have rejoined training in Seixal, completing the group of players available to manager Marco Silva. The two were the last to return after other squad members such as Tomás Araújo, Amar Dedic, Dodi Lukebakio and Richard Ríos. Their participation in the upcoming second leg of the Europa League qualifying round against St Gallen is considered unlikely.

Benfica has offered Schjelderup a contract renewal and is fielding interest from other European clubs, with the Portuguese side valuing a potential transfer at more than €40 million. The club remains active in the transfer market, seeking at least one central defender, a midfielder and a winger to reinforce the squad ahead of the new season.
