Benfica defeats Casa Pia 7-0 in dominant Liga Portugal victory

Benfica secured their first victory of the 2026/27 Liga Portugal season with a dominant 7-0 win against Casa Pia at the Estádio Municipal in Rio Maior. After a 2-2 draw in their opening match, the team under Marco Silva delivered a commanding performance to move up to fourth in the standings.

Gianluca Prestianni opened the scoring in the third minute, followed by a goal from Rafa Silva in the 14th minute. The second half was dominated by Vangelis Pavlidis, who scored a hat-trick in just seven minutes, finding the net in the 47th, 49th, and 54th minutes.

A goal by Lawrence Ofori was recorded as an own goal for Casa Pia, and Colombian striker Jhon Durán added the final goal in the 61st minute shortly after entering the match. The match concluded with a red card for Casa Pia's Khaly following two yellow cards.
