Benfica faces injury crisis ahead of Europa League clash

Benfica manager Marco Silva is dealing with a significant number of injuries as the team prepares for a crucial Europa League match against Omonia in Nicosia. The coach expressed concern over the high volume of absences during a period of intense competition, with the squad facing matches approximately every three days until the upcoming international break.

Players confirmed to be unavailable for the trip to Cyprus include Banjaqui, Enzo Barrenechea, Kaminski, Leandro Barreiro, and Jhon Durán. Despite these setbacks, Silva has confirmed that Echeverri will start the match. The manager has also warned his squad against complacency, stating, “I do not allow a relaxed Benfica,” emphasizing that the club's reputation alone will not win matches.
