Benfica files disciplinary complaint against FC Porto

Following the recent Clássico match, Benfica has filed a formal complaint with the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) seeking penalties against FC Porto. The complaint cites several incidents during the match, including obscene gestures from an FC Porto staff member and the throwing of a bottle toward the Benfica bench.

Benfica is also contesting the use of provocative music played at the stadium and the broadcasting of specific images by Porto Canal. The club is questioning the legality of Porto Canal's use of footage featuring the Benfica bench. In response to the match's controversies regarding refereeing and conduct, Benfica leadership, including Rui Costa, has indicated they will adopt a harder stance against perceived injustices and will closely monitor future matches involving their rival.

FC Porto is also expected to strengthen its own rhetoric in response to the ongoing tensions.
