Benfica lists Richard Ríos for transfer to balance finances

Benfica has placed Colombian midfielder Richard Ríos on its list of negotiable players to help balance the club's seasonal budget. The Portuguese club reportedly needs to generate approximately €60 million in sales to stabilize its finances.

Ríos, who joined Benfica from Palmeiras for roughly €30 million, is valued at a target price between €40 million and €45 million. While the club considers several players available for transfer to optimize its economic situation, key assets such as striker Pavlidis and winger Schjelderup remain untouchable.

Interest in the midfielder has been noted from Italian clubs, including Napoli, while Premier League side Newcastle United has reportedly registered interest in Ríos as a potential replacement for Bruno Guimarães. As of now, no formal offers have been submitted, and a return to Brazilian football has been ruled out.
