Benfica rejects Fenerbahçe’s €40‑50 million bid for striker Vangelis Pavlidis

Portuguese club S.L. Benfica turned down a €40 million offer from Turkish side Fenerbahçe for Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis, stating that the proposal was far below the price it expects. The club indicated it would only consider a transfer if the fee reached around €70 million, despite Fenerbahçe later raising its bid to €50 million.

Benfica also highlighted Pavlidis’s contract terms, noting a €100 million release clause and a contract that runs until the summer of 2029. The 27‑year‑old striker has become a key player for the Lisbon team, with 112 appearances, 64 goals and 18 assists, and was instrumental in a 5‑0 Europa League qualifying win over Celtic.
