Benfica to offer contract renewal to Gianluca Prestianni

Benfica is preparing a contract renewal proposal for 20-year-old Argentine winger Gianluca Prestianni following his strong start to the season. Although his current contract runs until 2029 and includes a €100 million release clause, club president Rui Costa expressed a clear intent to secure the player's long-term future.

Prestianni has experienced a significant surge in form under manager Marco Silva, contributing five goals and one assist in six matches. This performance follows his move from Vélez Sarsfield in January 2024. His recent impact was highlighted during Benfica's 3-1 victory against Aarhus, which secured the club's place in the Europa League league phase.

The club's move to protect Prestianni's contract comes amid similar efforts to secure other key players, such as Norwegian winger Schjelderup, to avoid losing talent without adequate financial compensation.
