Bengaluru court permits co-accused to turn approver in Renukaswamy murder case

A Bengaluru court has granted permission to co-accused Pradosh S Rao to turn approver in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case. The 59th City Civil and Sessions Court approved the application, which allows Pradosh to serve as a prosecution witness in exchange for a pardon, provided he makes a full and truthful disclosure of all facts.

The court cautioned that if Pradosh suppresses material details or provides false evidence, his pardon status will be revoked, and he will be treated as an accused again. Pradosh, who is currently in judicial custody, requested to be moved to a separate cell at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison to avoid intimidation from other co-accused, including actor Darshan Thoogudeepa.

In his application, Pradosh alleged that Darshan pressured him to assist in moving the body and attempted to conceal the incident. The prosecution has previously accused Pradosh of helping destroy evidence and receiving ₹30 lakh from Darshan. His testimony is expected to be a significant development in the trial regarding the death of 33-year-old Renukaswamy.
