Bengaluru explosion investigation intensifies as NIA joins probe
Authorities are investigating a suspicious explosion that occurred on October 20 at an under-construction building in the Pulikeshi Nagar area of Bengaluru. The blast, which took place on the fourth floor of a building on Jeremiah Road, injured two construction workers, identified as Allauddin and Suraj. One worker reportedly lost a finger in the incident.
Preliminary reports suggest the explosion occurred after the workers opened a bag found on the road. Investigators are examining several possibilities, including the use of an improvised explosive device (IED), a chemical reaction, or a malfunction involving a battery-operated object. A security guard reportedly told investigators he received an anonymous phone call instructing him to place a parcel inside the premises.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has requested preliminary investigation reports and forensic findings from local authorities. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Internal Security Division (ISD) are also involved in the probe. Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has urged the public to avoid rumors while awaiting official results from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
