Gurugram: Two-year-old girl killed by car while playing

A two-year-old girl, identified as Adrija Tiwari, was fatally struck by a car while playing outside her home in Sector 5, Gurugram. The incident occurred around 9 pm on a Monday night and was captured on CCTV footage.

The footage shows the vehicle turning into the street and running over the child while her mother was standing nearby. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Jatin, briefly exited the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The family rushed the child to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police have since arrested Jatin and impounded the vehicle. According to Inspector Satyawan of the Sector 5 police station, the accident may have occurred because visibility on the driver’s side was obstructed while taking the turn. The victim's father, Virendra Tiwari, filed a formal complaint, and a case has been registered.
