Bengaluru food safety officials seal Zepto warehouse and multiple outlets

Food safety officials in Bengaluru have conducted a series of inspections across various food establishments, resulting in multiple closures and the sealing of facilities due to unhygienic conditions and regulatory violations.

A Zepto warehouse in Hoskote was sealed after inspectors discovered organic waste, discarded packaging, and accumulated filth on the floor. The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department reported violations including misbranding, non-compliant food labelling, and improper storage practices that breached FSSAI requirements.

In separate raids, officials inspected three Indira Canteen outlets, finding rats and worms in food supplies. This led to the immediate sealing of the Gottigere central kitchen and the issuance of notices to other operators.

Additionally, a hotel in Bengaluru’s Multi-Storeyed Building was closed following the discovery of unhygienic conditions. Inspections near Vidhana Soudha also resulted in the seizure of expired food products, including Suji Rava and Cococant powder, at a local canteen.
