Bengaluru infrastructure: Aero India registrations, Metro updates, and traffic disputes

Bengaluru is undergoing several infrastructure and urban development shifts. Registrations for Aero India 2027, Asia’s largest air show, are set to open on September 3, 2026, for the event scheduled for February 2027 at the Yelahanka Air Force Station.

In transit news, the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is nearing its operational launch. Following a trial ride on the Kalena Agrahara-Tavarekere stretch, the elevated section awaits final clearances and an official inauguration date from the central government.

Meanwhile, commuters have expressed frustration over new restrictions on the elevated flyover connecting the city to Kempegowda International Airport. The ban on two-wheelers, autorickshaws, and light goods vehicles has diverted traffic to service roads, significantly increasing travel times and causing congestion.

Additionally, Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has called for public input regarding proposed tunnel roads and traffic management solutions to address the city's ongoing mobility challenges.
