Bengaluru police arrest 13 in ₹100 crore land fraud targeting education trust

Bengaluru police have arrested 13 individuals, including several Revenue Department officials, for forging documents to illegally seize six acres of land valued at over ₹100 crore. The property belongs to the Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Education Trust and is located in Survey No. 43, Kambipura Village, Kengeri Hobli, Bengaluru South Taluk.

The scheme, led by a suspect named Francis, involved creating fake legal heirship, death and grant certificates from 1960‑61 in the name of a fictitious Arogyaswamy. Arrested officials include Deputy Tahsildars Deepak and M. P. Ravi, Village Accountants Rajanna and Kirankumar, Arun Kumar, and Village Administrative Officers Shivaprasad and Satish Kumar. A FIR (No. 140/2026) was filed on June 10, 2026 under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Key accused Arogyaswamy and several revenue staff remain at large. Police say the same group has used similar forged documentation to target other parcels of land, and investigations are ongoing.
