Bengaluru: Four arrested for kidnapping and filming woman over loan dispute

Police in Bengaluru have arrested four individuals, including two women, following the kidnapping and assault of a 30-year-old woman over unpaid loan interest. The victim had reportedly borrowed 1 lakh rupees from Reshma Banu and 50,000 rupees from Nazath Begam approximately two years ago.

According to the investigation, the victim was lured to a residence under the pretext of being offered employment. Once there, she was allegedly assaulted by Reshma Banu, her husband Suhail, and others. The group reportedly kidnapped the woman and her minor son, transporting them to a house in Kumbalagodu where they were held captive for four days.

During the confinement, the victim alleged she was stripped, assaulted, and filmed in a semi-naked state. The assailants reportedly demanded 11 lakh rupees, including accumulated interest, and threatened to circulate the video online if the payment was not made. The case was initiated after the victim's mother filed a missing-person report at the Chandra Layout Police Station.
