Bengaluru Police identify 19 illegal foreign nationals during raids

The Bengaluru Police conducted a large-scale verification drive, dubbed 'Operation Mukt,' to identify foreign nationals residing illegally in the city. In the Electronic City division, 23 police teams consisting of 295 personnel raided 29 locations across various areas, including Begur, Parappana Agrahara, Bandipalya, Hulimavu, and Hebbagodi.

During the operation in Electronic City, authorities verified the documents of 1,909 individuals. While 1,894 people possessed valid documentation, 15 individuals were identified as Bangladeshi nationals. Specifically, 8 were found in Begur and 7 in Parappana Agrahara. Additionally, a separate search in the Whitefield division involved over 500 police officers checking more than 30 locations, resulting in the identification of 4 Bangladeshi nationals among those questioned.

Police records indicate that 47 Bangladeshi nationals have been deported from the Electronic City division over the past year. Authorities are currently investigating the documentation of the 15 recently identified individuals and are also looking into landlords or local networks that may be facilitating illegal stays through fraudulent documents.
