Bengaluru sees major investment approval amid rising traffic concerns

Bengaluru is experiencing significant economic growth alongside intensifying urban challenges. A high-level panel led by the Karnataka Chief Minister has approved investment proposals totaling Rs 29,679 crore. These projects are projected to create approximately 66,360 jobs, providing a substantial boost to the regional economy.

However, the city faces mounting infrastructure and logistical issues. Commuters are facing severe traffic congestion, particularly on the Outer Ring Road between Silk Board and KR Pura due to upcoming redevelopment work. Public frustration regarding road conditions and long commute times has gained traction online, with reports of journeys between Electronic City and Whitefield taking up to three hours.

Additionally, local officials are debating urban policy, including a proposed annual roadside parking fee hike. Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy has urged the Chief Minister to reconsider the increase, citing potential negative impacts on middle-class families.
