Bengaluru Woman Commits Suicide After Video Call Over Husband's Alleged Affair

On 26 July, 26‑year‑old housewife Sanika Gaurda was found dead at her parents' home in the Rai Sanda area of Bengaluru. After a video call with her husband Sharan Gaurda, during which she heard an audio recording that suggested he was involved with another woman, she became distressed and hung herself from a ceiling fan.

Police reported that the couple had been married for about one and a half years and that Sanika had recently returned to her parents' house for post‑natal care, leaving a seven‑month‑old child at the scene. Investigators are probing allegations of Sharan Gaurda's extramarital relationship as a possible motive. The case was registered at Parappana Agrahara police station, and Sanika's body was sent to St. John's Medical College Hospital for post‑mortem examination.
