Bengaluru: Woman dies, man injured after jump from Whitefield PG

A 23-year-old software engineer, identified as Janani, died after allegedly jumping from the seventh floor of a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Whitefield, Bengaluru, on Sunday afternoon.

Janani, who was originally from Puducherry and had been staying at the ECC Road accommodation for eight months, died at the scene. Her partner, 30-year-old Manickavelu, who works for a logistics company in Puducherry, survived the fall but sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police reports indicate that the two had been in a relationship for approximately six years and that Manickavelu had traveled to Bengaluru to meet her. Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the incident and have notified the families of both individuals.
