Bengkalis human trafficking suspects retrieve seized vehicles

Jasmani and Suzana, a couple accused of human trafficking (TPPO), have retrieved two vehicles previously seized as evidence through a loan-use mechanism. The vehicles, a Toyota Rush and a Toyota Fortuner, had been held for approximately eight months.

The couple visited the Bengkalis District Attorney's Office on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to complete the necessary administration and documentation. Suzana stated that the retrieval was permitted following a judge's determination, even though the legal case is currently undergoing an appeal process.

The trafficking case stems from allegations involving the unofficial repatriation of several Indonesian citizens from Malaysia to the Bengkalis region in February 2026. The group was reportedly transported to a residence in Desa Senggoro using the vehicles in question.
