Bengkalis officials call for cross-sector collaboration to combat HIV/AIDS

The Bengkalis Regency Government is intensifying efforts to prevent and manage HIV/AIDS by promoting cross-sector collaboration. During a coordination meeting on August 26, 2026, Vice Regent Bagus Santoso emphasized that the government cannot address the issue in isolation.

Effective management requires active involvement from various stakeholders, including regional government agencies, healthcare workers, the education sector, community organizations, the business world, and the general public. The strategy focuses on integrated prevention, early detection, and improving access to healthcare services.

A key component of the initiative is consistent public education to provide accurate information regarding transmission and prevention. This is intended to combat misinformation and reduce the social stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV.
